Why is sleep so important to reach our goals?

Sleep as we know is VITAL ! This is where the body takes those hours to recover, heal and restore our energy in every aspect… not just in our muscles etc, but our brains, our cells, everything.

Those that tend to not get the right amount of sleep tend to have an increased apetite … causing us to snack more and have a higher calorie intake. This makes weight loss so much harder . Less sleep 😴, affects our hormones that regulate hunger.

On top of that, mentally we will not be on top form to stick to our training schedules, and physically will not be able to get the MOST out of our training sessions which adds to poor technique and injuries.

Also with muscle recovery , when we experience DOMS, it makes it harder for the muscles to rebuild and repair and will slow down your results , REST and adequate sleep is very important to RECOVERY AND HEALING!

Whilst asleep, blood glucose gets stored in the muscle as muscle glycogen. Not getting enough sleep can also decrease our muscle mass… so makes it harder to build that lean muscle etc.

What is glycogen?
Glycogen is glucose molecule. It is STORED in the liver and our muscles.

7-8 hours is adequate and getting this on a regular basis will help get you the results you want…. Try and get to sleep every night at the same time …. and get that bed time routine on a roll. Watch the changes that happen 🥊
