Not just Protein? What about Fibre?

Can fibre help with fat loss?

WHAT IS FIBRE?

Well, yes it can! Fibre refers to carbohydrates that can not be easily digested by our gut. We all know you need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Fibre can help supress our appetite and help us feel full for longer.

Filling that plate up with lots of colour, lots of greens such as asparagus, broccoli etc definitely will help. Oats are also a good source of fibre and a great way to start the day. This alone will not help with results, it has to be a lifestyle change. Drinking water, good amount of protein and physical activity all forms part of the plan.

It does though slow down digestion, and help manage our insulin and blood sugar levels to the food we eat. A list of foods that are rich in fibre are

  1. FRUITS
  2. OATMEAL
  3. GREENS
  4. BEANS

These foods add volume without the heavy calories, meaning they take up space in our gut, which slows down digestion and helps keep us feeling fuller for longer.

If your someone who slacks in the fruit and vegetable area, these are reasons to start filling that plate up, also to boost your vitamin and mineral intake too.
