NEW YEAR…LIFELONG CHANGES

Creating HEALTHY Habits

We all know the drill every single year ( rolls eyes), new year new me, new year promises we make to ourselves and do not stick to. To be able to dedicate ourselves to change and changes that will stick, we have to be clear about not only what we want to achieve, but also how will we achieve it? What obstacles do we need to overcome? Also writing down our goals and a plan to go with them , there is a higher chance in achieving our goals and adhering to the process.

PHASE 1

Contemplation!

This is where we start to think about the change / changes that we want to make. No matter how small or big, it all matters.

PHASE 2

Preparation

Writing down the STEPS you are prepared to take in order to reach your goal. You need a PLAN of how you can and WILL get there. Something to follow as this will help you a lot. Having it written down and stuck up somewhere , seeing it visually can really help you adhere to your goals, and you can tick off each step that you carry out, its a brilliant way to see your progress! For example if you wanted to start a side hustle of selling, one of your steps could be setting up an instagram page. No matter how small the steps may seem, get it done and ticked off your list. Hold yourself accoutable.

Obstacles – you can also list things that you think can and will get in the way . No matter how impossible something may feel, brainstorm x100 solutions to your obstacle. If childcare is a problem write childcare on a piece of paper and write out solution paths …. you’ll be very surprised as what you can come up with. With my own fitness business , I am very child friendly and allow children at sessions as being a mother myself I know what a barrier this can be, and in my eyes HAPPY MUM HAPPY KIDS!

PHASE 3

Putting your plan into ACTION!

This is where you have started putting your plan above into action, and physically taking the steps towards your goals and getting closer each day , bit by bit. REMEMBER the time will pass anyway and you will only regret not sticking to your plan. YES, self discipline is needed, even on the days you feel meh…. you have to push past that. Tick off your steps as you do them, in a way they are mini goals, mini daily goals that have to be adhered to to get to reach YOUR BIG GOALS.

Falling off…….

There will be times you fall off, and when we do a huge part of the population gives up completely . We all do it with a diet… feel we mess it up on a Wednesday so then think sod it ill eat rubbish until Monday and start again…. its that mentality that can stop us reaching our potential. If you fall off task for one or two days…. just pick back up from where you left off. Go back to your step by step and start from where you was. Trust me you will feel sooooo much better for it! Do not beat yourself up about it.

Grab yourself a new notebook, schedule out 30 minutes of your day and start planning. One thing I want to mention is that at RK FITNESS, you are helped to make LIFE LONG LIFESTYLE CHANGES. We take away bad habits and replace them with good habits. HABITS ARE ROUTINES. They are either negative or positive. Do not overwhelm yourself either as you can fail, make one or two small changes at a time.

LIFELONG LIFESTYLE CHANGES

  1. One coffee a day
  2. 2 L of water a day
  3. Not skipping breakfast ( having a wholesome meal e.g oats to start your day)
  4. Dedicate to x3 exercise sessions a week
  5. Going bed an hour earlier
  6. Screen time limit

These are just a few examples of small healthier habits that make a big difference.

Sending love and light to you all for 2022 xx
